MONTPELIER—Pro-Life Lobby Day takes place today at the Statehouse. Pro-life Vermonters from throughout the state will join in Montpelier to remind lawmakers that life is precious from beginning to end and to reiterate the fact that abortion is not healthcare and physician-assisted suicide is not healthcare and must be excluded from any health care bill. Pro-life Lobby Day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends around 2:30 p.m. The day includes opportunities to write a letter in support of life to legislators, speak with legislators and sit in on committee meetings. ESSEX JUNCTION--The Feast of Saint Gianna Berretta Molla (1922-2004) wife, mother and doctor, will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 36 Lincoln St. Essex Junction, Vt. on Wednesday, April 28th with Mass at 7 pm, allowed by a reception and the viewing of “Love is a Choice,” a beautiful film telling her life story. JERICHO--The annual "Let’s Go Fishing Clinic" sponsored by St. Thomas Parish, St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Council #7810, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department and the Mills Riverside Park will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 starting at 10:00 AM.at the Mills Riverside Park, off Route 15 in Jericho. June 16 St. John Vianney South Burlington 6-9 p.m. Diocese Announces Dates for Pre-Cana Team Couple Certification Program With the marriage preparation/enrichment curriculum, “One in Christ” as its basis, the Diocese of Burlington has announced a new enrichment program to ensure that all couples who teach marriage preparation have the best possible foundation. The 3-part series will offer all couples who teach pre-Cana classes an opportunity for personal enrichment as well as certification in pre-Cana preparation. As stated in the course brochure, the goals of the program are: • To enrich, renew and inspire the couples who form pre-Cana teams by offering a meaningful opportunity for reflection on, and catechetical review of, the tenets of the Catholic faith, particularly those relevant to the vocation of marriage. • To lift up the centrality of faith in informing and guiding marriage so that teaching couples may in turn help evangelize and inspire engaged couples to participate fully in the life of the Church. • To better enable couples to access the grace of the Sacrament of Marriage and the prayer, support and resources of the Church community in building a strong and lasting marriage. BENNINGTON--The Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Chapter of the Father Patrick Peyton Guild will begin its activities with a meeting on Tuesday, June 22, from 7-9 p.m. in the parish hall. The next morning, Wednesday, June 23, the 8 a.m. Mass will be offered for families and for the cause of the beatification of Father Peyton. There will also be a rosary offered monthly by the guild for families in the tradition of Father Peyton. This will take place at 8:30 a.m. on the first Friday of each month beginning July 2, prior to the 9 a.m. First Friday Mass. Everyone is invited to join in any or all these gatherings.

NEWPORT—St. Mary Star of the Sea Cenacle of Life meets at 3 p.m. in the Adoration Chapel of the church every Tuesday. This is a prayer group to end the culture of death in the world. All are invited to come and pray two rosaries and to offer up a fast each week. For more information, call 334-7174.
