WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOUR MARRIAGE TODAY: Website offered by the US Council of Catholic Bishops, Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth. Covers a multitude of subjects from preparing for marriage to marriage enrichment and dealing with burdens along the way.
WORLD MARRIAGE DAY:
Celebrations are encouraged throughout the Diocese and in cooperation with Marriage Encounter. The Diocesan Mass celebrating World Marriage Day is usually offered the first weekend in February so that local parishes are able to celebrate the second weekend and the actual World Marriage Day Celebration. Certificates are awarded to couples celebrating significant anniversaries. For more information please E-mail Us.
NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING (NFP):
Natural Family Planning (NFP) is an effective method for avoiding or achieving pregnancy where there are no harmful drugs are devices involved. A woman becomes simply and naturally in touch with her own fertility by learning to recognize and understand the physical changes in her body. This process fosters commitment in couples to work together in meeting their family goals.
Natural family planning is presented at all Pre Cana programs. Trained NFP teaching couples are available for couples preparing for marriage as well as those already married. These couples are certified through the Couple to Couple League. From time to time there are also parish classes available.
