Candy Cane Christmas Marketplace

BRISTOL—The Candy Cane Christmas Marketplace Dec. 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Ambrose Parish Hall will feature a craft shop, bake shop, Mercy Creation Gift Shop, doll and linen shop, wonder jars, silent auction, attic treasures and raffles for a hand-quilted heirloom quilt, themed baskets, a Fuji 24-speed bicycle and a 50/50 raffle. Special events include: a Silver Tea on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and Santa's visit on Saturday. For more information, call 453-2488.

PITTSFORD—The St. Alphonsus Christmas Fair will take place Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring a silent auction, tea cup raffle, white elephant table, book sale, baked goods, handcrafted items and Vermont products. Thanksgiving dinner for seniors

BARRE—St. Monica Parish’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner for seniors will take place on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 12:30 p.m. in St. Monica-St. Michael School gym. For more information, call 476-4020.

Student leaders

BARRE-- Colleen Couture and Cellan Hogan both former St. Monica-St. Michael School students and current 10th grade students at Spaulding High School were selected to attend the HOBY leadership seminar. The selection for this seminar was based on outstanding 10th-grade leaders. The girls had to apply and then be interviewed by a team who then chooses two students. HOBY”s flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar is designed to help high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talent and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.
