Jubilee for the Sick

Jubilee for the Sick

October 16, 2016 • 3 p.m. at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral

On Oct. 16 there will be a Jubilee for the Sick within this Holy Year of Mercy at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Burlington. This will include a healing service for those with physical, emotional and spiritual concerns. Pilgrims will hear testimony from those who are ill or experiencing illness in their families, and will have the opportunity to adore our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, and receive healing through the Sacraments of Anointing of the Sick and Confession. There will also be opportunities to be prayed over by priests of the diocese, for those who may not need or be able to receive these sacraments. All are very welcome to attend and celebrate God's gift of merciful healing in their lives, and the lives of others. Light refreshments will be served after.

Healing ministry for those in need

This month, as we celebrate the presence of the sick in our midst, and the presence of Christ distinctly within them, we also turn our gaze to those who serve them at Vermont Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Burlington. Along with a host of other charitable works, Vermont Catholic Charities integrates the Catholic faith with sound psychological theory and practice to provide the highest quality professional and affordable services. They offer counseling to individuals, couples, and families who seek hope, support, compassion and the opportunity for healing and personal growth. Substance abuse counseling by highly trained clinicians is also available, to help those who suffer from addiction. Through the initiative of “Project Rachel” Vermont Catholic Charities also offers healing ministry for individuals who have been affected by abortion, helping them to grieve, receive forgiveness, and find peace. To find out more about Vermont Catholic Charities, and for a complete list of services that they provide, please click below.
