First Saturday Mass

ST. JOHNSBURY--“First Saturday” Mass will be celebrated at St. John the
Evangelist Church at 8:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month The “First
Five Saturday” devotion has been popular for many years. It originates with a message received from Our Lady by Sister Lucia dos Santos, one of the three children of Fatima. The practice includes Mass, Confession and Holy Communion with a promise from Our Lady for assistance at the hour of death. The First Saturday of January is Jan. 7.
 

Parish cookbook

TROY-- The Ladies of Sacred Heart are preparing a custom cookbook featuring favorite recipes from the tri-parish community as a fundraiser for youth activities within the church.
 
Your favorite holiday recipes as well as your family favorites could be great additions to this project.
 
This will be an ongoing project throughout the winter, and organizers plan to have the cookbook ready in time for the parish retreat in June. Please submit recipes no later than March 31.
