Feast of Christ the King concert

BENNINGTON--An afternoon observance of the Feast of Christ the King with
Donald McMahon at the organ of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 238 West Main St. will include melodies that are joyful, exhilarating, contemplative and prayerful. The concert will take place Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
 

‘Rising Star’

RUTLAND—Vermont Business Magazine has named Mount St. Joseph Academy Principal Sarah Fortier a “Rising Star.” This honor is given to acknowledge Vermont's top leaders under the age of 40 for their commitment to business growth, professional excellence and involvement in their communities. "We received over 140 outstanding nominations this year. The judges had a difficult time picking the top 40.... For these young professionals it's not just about business. It's about them making a difference in their communities," said VBM Publisher John Boutin.
 

Service of Lessons and Carols

BENNINGTON--The parish choir of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington invites everyone to a Service of Lessons and Carols for Gaudete Sunday on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. in the church at 238 West Main St. The service will include Old Testament Scripture, choral masterpieces of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods and the music of the church's pipe organ. Soccer champs

RUTLAND—The Mount St. Joseph girls’ soccer team brought home the championship trophy at the John Wener Tournament on Oct. 4 for the fourth year in a row. They defeated Long Trail 5-1. Jenna Eaton '17 and Erin McClallen '20 contributed with two the goals each, and Shannon Elms '17 had one goal.
 

St. Bridget’s Christmas Sale

WEST RUTLAND--St. Bridget Parish will host a Christmas sale on Saturday Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the parish hall. It will feature 20 vendor tables with varied homemade crafts, photography, Pampered Chef, Avon, jewelry, white elephant, bake sale and several large baskets and trees for raffle.
