1,000 points

Jenna Eaton (right) poses with Bryn McClallen and Mount St. Joseph Academy Principal Sarah Fortier (center).
RUTLAND–Mount St. Joseph Academy’s Jenna Eaton scored her 1,000th point during the school’s 48-24 win over Proctor on March 2. She entered the game needing only four points to reach the 1,000-point total, and the baskets came quickly.

Eaton opened the game with an impressive layup to give the Mounties the lead, and she followed it up completing another layup during which she was fouled, earning the 1,000th point in spectacular fashion. Jenna’s accomplishment puts her in a class with only Monica Schmelzenbach (MSJ ’16) and Kim Levins (MSJ ’87).

Jenna has excelled at MSJ, both academically and in extra-curricular activities.
She is a captain of the girl’s basketball team. She also joined the 100-point club in soccer with teammate Bryn McClallen this season. Jenna is also student body president.

She has been accepted at Boston College, Notre Dame, Ohio State and the University of Vermont. She is the daughter of Aaron and Julie Eaton of Rutland.

Mount St. Joseph Academy is a college preparatory Catholic high school located at
127 Convent Ave., Rutland, specializing in educating the mind and spirit for more than a century.
