MOUNT ST. JOSEPH ACADEMY FOOTBALL-- The Mount St. Joseph Academy football team in Rutland has a long tradition of stopping at the statues of the Holy Family next to St. Peter Church and praying for personal intentions as well as health for themselves and their opponents. The landscaping surrounding the monument is cleaned every year by the DeBlasio brothers, Eric and Adam -- who played football at MSJ -- and their father, Dominic. In 2016, due to low football participation numbers, MSJ football paired with Poultney High School to create a cooperative football team.
