Bishop’s Annual Appeal Parish Goal Explanation
In an effort to develop attainable and equitable goals for each parish, the method for which parish goals are calculated has been updated for the 2025 appeal.
New goals have been calculated with this formula: The parish’s final percentage-to-goal from the last four years are added together and averaged. This average percentage is then multiplied by the parish’s 2024 goal.
For example: if a parish reached 83% in 2021, 92% in 2022, 95% in 2023, and 105% in 2024, their average percentage-to-goal goal would be 93%. And if the parish’s 2024 goal was $50,000, then its revised goal for 2025 would be $46,500 (93% x $50,000 = $46,500) which is 7% lower than its previous goal. However, if the parish consistently reached over 100% and its four-year average percentage-to-goal was, for example, 109%, its new goal for 2025 would be 9% higher than its 2024 goal, (109% x $50,000 = $54,500).
The overall goal for the 2025 Bishop’s Annual Appeal is $2,200,000.
