Now that we’ve settled into the Lenten season, all are welcome to attend this virtual (ZOOM) evening of reflection and conversation that will help us consider anew the traditional Lenten disciplines: fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. A short 20 minute reflection on each of the three Lenten disciplines will be offered by Josh Perry, Director of the Office of Worship. Between each reflection, there will be time for conversation and questions, silent prayer and guided meditation, and music.
Participants are asked to prepare a small prayer space near where they will be tuning in for the reflection: perhaps set a small table with a purple cloth, a crucifix, candle, old palm branch, and/or a Bible. Also, think about how you might participate in the practice of almsgiving this Lent. If you have a symbol that represents your almsgiving, you can incorporate it into your prayer space.
Schedule:
6:30 – 6:50: Reflection on Fasting
6:50 – 7:00: Questions and Conversation on Fasting
7:00 – 7:20: Reflection on Prayer
7:20 – 7:40: Time for Silent Prayer & Guided Meditation
