Formation for Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick and Homebound

This fall, the Office of Worship will be conducting formation sessions for Extraordinary Ministers who bring Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound. The sessions will cover the official ritual for the administration of communion and viaticum to the sick by an extraordinary minister, found in the recently revised Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery Outside of Mass, as well as best practices for making a pastoral visit to the sick or homebound.

The session is conducted at 1:00 – 3:00 pm and repeats at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on each of the dates below:

  • Tuesday, September 17 at St. John the Baptist in Enosburg
  • Tuesday, September 24 at St. John Vianney in South Burlington
  • Wednesday, October 9 at St. Edward in Derby Line
  • Tuesday, October 22 at Christ the King in Rutland
  • Tuesday, November 12 at St. Michael the Archangel in Brattleboro

An additional session will be scheduled in Advent for the central Vermont (location and date pending).
