Mater Christi School Wins 2026 Vermont Geo-Bee Championship
On Wednesday, May 6, four Middle School Mater Christi students won first place at the 2026 Vermont Geo-Bee hosted at Norwich University by the Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA). The competition brought together teams of students from across Vermont in grades 5 through 8 to showcase their knowledge of geography, map skills, and world landmarks and history.
The four students demonstrated exceptional teamwork, preparation, and academic excellence throughout the competition’s seven rounds of challenging geography questions. Their efforts earned Mater Christi School the state championship title, medals, and the championship plaque.
According to Tim Loescher, Head of School, “We are so proud of these young scholars. Winning the Vermont Geo-Bee reflects the curiosity, humility and teamwork we cultivate every day at Mater Christi. Geography is about developing a deeper understanding of the world God has given us, and these students reminded all of us why that matters.”
