Mission: Bishop John A. Marshall School educates children of all faiths to achieve academic excellence, challenging them to fully develop their God-given talents with commitment to truth, compassion, self-discipline, and love for all, in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Molly Wilson is a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski and recently graduated from The Bishop John A. Marshall School in Morrisville. Last winter, Molly became concerned with the growing epidemic of homeless youth. She spent Saturday mornings from December to April working at St. Joseph-Spectrum Youth Services with Father Lance Harlow, making and serving breakfast to those seeking shelter at the cathedral.

Molly learned a great deal while serving the youth of the greater Burlington area and hopes to continue next year.

While a student at Bishop Marshall School, Molly began the school’s first gymnastics club, known as BJAMS Tumblers.

She researched, organized and advertised the club, welcoming 10 tumblers the first year. Molly also handled all of the administrative tasks, including waivers and the monthly $20 fee, which she then used to purchase equipment, as the school did not have any gymnastics equipment.  In the second year of the gymnastics program, Molly more than doubled the enrollment in her program and enlisted the help of a friend met at Central Vermont Gymnastics Academy in Waterbury.

Together, Molly and she were able to order $2,000 worth of gymnastics equipment for the school.

Molly is faithful servant and has selflessly given to her school and community. She is mature and takes initiative and always follows through. An honor-roll student, she takes learning seriously and is looking forward to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of 2020.

Molly was awarded the St. Francis Xavier medal at Bishop Marshall School for her care of those in need.
