Immaculate Conception parish hosts first ‘Community and Family Night’
The Immaculate Conception Parish and the St. Mary’s Academy invited the community to join them as they hosted their first “Community and Family Night” monthly series at Holy Angels Parish Hall, St. Albans on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
Over 50 parishioners from the community attended, shared a homemade meal, and enjoyed singing, praying, and talking together. The group hosted a video presentation of “The Catholic Family in a Post-Christian World” after the meal. This was followed by an interactive group discussion about how our faith should inform our family life and how the modern culture can sometimes challenge this objective.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 468, Knights of Columbus Council 297, and the Leahy Family provided childcare during the program so children could enjoy games and fun activities together.
Valdemar Garibay, Grand Knight of K of C Council 297 stated, “We are happy to help contribute to the success of this first Community and Family Night. This type of gathering is very important for individual faith formation and helps to create connections for discussing the importance of families and community.”
This first event was successful that other similar “Community and Family Nights” will be planned in the near future!
