The Diocese of Burlington earned accolades in two categories for promotional materials for the 2018 Bishop’s Annual Appeal during the International Catholic Stewardship Council Stewardship Awards at the 57th annual conference Oct. 6-9 in Chicago.

The Diocese’s development and communications staff earned the Award for Excellence in the Annual Appeal Video category and an honorable mention in the Annual Appeal Poster Category.

“We are honored to be recognized among so many talented and dedicated people working hard to promote the theology of stewardship and Catholic philanthropy in their Dioceses,” said Ellen Kane, executive director of development and communication for the Diocese of Burlington. “I am blessed with a very talented and faith-filled development and communication team that understands that as Catholics we are all called to be stewards of our Church in Vermont by giving of our time, talent and treasure. Only together can we build a vibrant Church in Vermont and spread Christ’s message of love, hope and charity to a culture that so desperately needs to hear the Good News.”

Each year the International Catholic Stewardship Council recognizes Dioceses and Archdioceses that best promote the theology of stewardship and best practices of Catholic philanthropy throughout the year. There is one category for large Arch/Dioceses and one for smaller ones. The Diocese of Burlington was judged in the latter category.

The International Catholic Stewardship Council promotes and supports Catholic teaching on stewardship by providing education and resources for Dioceses, parishes and institutions of the Roman Catholic Church.
