Knights of Columbus Council 297 leading the way for Holy Angels roof replacement
Since October 2024, the Knights of Columbus Council 297 has been dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the much-needed roof replacement at Holy Angels Church.
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Chairman and Past Grand Knight Maurice Bonnette, the Knights of Columbus 297 Roof Committee, and the wider parish community, the fundraising campaign has been successfully completed, ensuring that Holy Angels will soon have a brand-new roof.
Over the years, patchwork repairs have kept the building serviceable, but the time has come for a full replacement. As expected, a project of this scale required significant financial support. Through generous donations, parishioner contributions, and multiple fundraising events, Council 297 and the Holy Angels community raised over a quarter of a million dollars to make this project possible.
To celebrate and finalize this important milestone, Council 297 hosted a Calcutta Night on Saturday, October 11, from 5:00 to 9:30pm at the St. Albans American Legion.
The evening featured remarks from Chairman and Past Grand Knight Maurice Bonnette, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the cause, and Grand Knight Valdemar Garibay, who spoke on the power of community and teamwork, emphasizing that every individual played a vital role in achieving this historic goal. Garibay also extended special thanks to Bonnette for his outstanding leadership in guiding the effort to completion.
Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, live music, a Calcutta drawing, a lively silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. The evening concluded with the drawing for the car raffle, marking a joyful and successful end to the celebration.
Knights of Columbus Council 297 extends its deepest appreciation to all who supported this effort. Your generosity and dedication are making a lasting impact on the future of Immaculate Conception Parish.
