Due to safety concerns related to the Covid-19 virus that are likely to remain throughout the summer, the Essex Catholic Community will partner with St. Francis Xavier Parish in Winooski and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Middlebury and reboot Vacation Bible School into five at-home family lessons that will be released in mid-July.

Families and parishes from throughout the Diocese of Burlington are invited to join.

The theme for the program will be Exodus: Trusting in God as We Journey to Freedom.

Participants will take an imaginary trip back in time to ancient Egypt — the land of the Pharaohs and the pyramids — to examine Catholic connections to the Exodus Story (Ten Commandments, Passover and journey to the Promised Land). The lessons will be geared for children in grades K-5 but will have scripted applications for the entire family.

The program will include lesson plans, teaching videos, music, crafts, activities and prayer.

Register now to receive materials for this summer learning opportunity. The registration fee is $10 per family. For families experiencing financial hardship, the fee will be waived.
