The Vermont Knights of Columbus (K of C) recently attended the 142nd Annual Supreme Convention held on August 5th to August 8th in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The convention was attended by representatives from all fifty states and several other countries around the world. The nine Vermont attendees at the convention also participated in a variety of meetings, Masses, and fellowship events with clergy and other members and their spouses from around the globe. Our official Vermont delegation included the State Deputy, a past State Deputy, and one delegate elected at our State Convention in April. Other visiting Vermonters included State Chaplain, Fr. Tim Naples, who served at every daily Mass, and Sir Knight Valdemar Garibay of the 4th degree who participated in all Mass processions and performed other special duties, including guarding a display of 76 holy relics in the convention chapel.

At the beginning of the convention, the Vermont Jurisdiction was honored with receiving the prestigious “Circle of Honor” award for surpassing its membership and activity goals last year. This clearly demonstrated that Vermont councils are consistently growing in membership and participation which is a very positive indicator of our overall charitable impact in the community and the increased spiritual commitment of Catholic men in our diocese.
