The annual Diocesan Family Day Mass will be celebrated July 7 at 12:15 p.m. at St. Anne’s Shrine in Isle LaMotte with Burlington Diocesan Adminustrator Monsignor John McDermott as celebrant.
A barbecue will follow.
St. Anne’s Shrine is a peaceful, spiritual, and historic site that has been developed and maintained for the past 100 years by the Society of St. Edmund in the Champlain Islands. Each season, thousands of religious pilgrims, vacationers and tourists visit the popular waterfront site in Isle La Motte for devotion and recreation.
The mission of the shrine is to serve as a welcoming place of peace and hope ministering to all God’s people through prayer, devotion, hospitality, and spiritual renewal.
Situated on 32 acres, the shrine offers an open-air chapel, rustic grottos, a café, a gift shop, an all-purpose facility and picnic areas.
The shrine will be providing a free-will-donation barbecue after the Family Day Mass as in the past.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic as well as lawn chairs and lawn games.
