Mass, confessions in Spanish

ENFIELD, N.H.—LaSalette Father John Patrick Sullivan, who served as a missionary in Argentina for many years, will celebrate Mass in Spanish at the LaSalette Shrine in on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 2:30 p.m. Father Sullivan is available for confessions in Spanish before and after the Spanish Mass. There will be refreshments after Mass. He also hears confessions both in Spanish and English at the regular confession times at the shrine. Bible study

BARRE—An 11-part Bible study from Scott Hahn's St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology will feature a DVD segment followed by leader-led discussion. This will take place at St. Monica Parish, 79 Summer St. The objectives are to help participants discover the Old Testament roots of the sacraments instituted by Christ; grow in knowledge of the sacraments; and learn how the seven sacraments have the power to transform lives and shape people for eternity. Golf classic

PITTSFORD—The eighth annual Knights of Columbus Golf Classic will take place at the Proctor Pittsford Country Club on Friday, Sept. 22, with registration and sign-in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m. there will be a shotgun start; dinner and prizes will be at 5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 21 Merchants Row, Rutland. This will be an 18-Hole Captain and Crew Scramble Format. Participants are invited to arrive at noon for the Chipping and Putting Contest. Play will be limited to 25 teams.

Church dinner

BRANDON—Our Lady of Good Help Parish will host a Saturday Nite Dinner Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. featuring meat loaf, baked potato, corn, coleslaw, dessert, rolls, coffee and cold drinks. The cost is $8 per person, $5 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.
 

‘End of Life Care for Catholics'

VERGENNES—Deacon Pete Gummere of Corpus Christi Parish in St. Johnsbury will speak on “End of Life Care for Catholics” on Sept. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Parish. He is director of the Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Burlington and a bioethicist and adjunct faculty member at Josephinum Diaconate Institute where he teaches courses in medical morality and moral theology.
