Knights of Columbus Council #297 in St. Albans, Fairfield, and East Fairfield participated in the Keep Christ in Christmas poster board contest for fraternal year 2023-2024.

This is a family activity where children draw on 11X17 poster board of what Christ means to them in Christmas.

This year, Council #297 received 21 student submissions from the age group of 5 to 14.  Children from St. Albans Atrium, Fairfield religious education class, and the homeschool group participated.

This is the fifth year in a row that the council has participated in this program.

District 1 Warden and Grand Knight Valdemar Garibay of Council #297 said, “We are grateful and thankful to the parents, students, and religious education teachers for helping support this annual program. This program means a lot in that the student uses his or her artistic ability to draw what Christ means to him or her in Christmas. We consider this an educational family activity. All the drawings are wonderful, and a lot of work is put into them.”

Winners were:

  • Age 5-7: Brooklyn Reynolds, Fairfield
  • Age 8-10: Case Reynolds, Fairfield
  • Age 11-14 Jack Barney, Fairfield

Knights of Columbus State Youth Director, Grand Knight, and State Advocate from Rutland, Elijah La Chance said, “This program is a great way to work with families to illustrate the true meaning of Christmas to the next generation. K of C Council #297 has for years run the strongest Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest in the state, which is a credit to its prayerful leadership.”
